man, i feel so fucked this quarter. it's wintertime so motivation is at its yearly low, plus english 102 and math are both huge in the homework department. even slacking in french, which i normally really like. i haven't gone to bed before 3 in about two weeks, i'm ridiculously stressed and it's just spiraling down down down down dowwwwwwwwn oh god i'm ready for spring break.

tomorrow i think i'm gonna try and get someone to cover my shift at work, i'm tearing my hair out.

it's 4 in the morning and my eyelids are fighting me. 4 hours of sleep, here i come.

not the most fun ever, i'm trying to get dumb requirements out of the way and then stick with french as long as i can--i think it goes up to 206 and then i can do credit by exam or independent study. i'm pretty psyched to be almost done with fall quarter, french is fine and english is pretty dull, but cultural anthropology is killing me slowly. my professor is definitely interesting but his teaching style is pretty weird and he does his own thing. apparently he's pretty lenient on final grades, though. which reminds me that i should start on my 8 - 10 page take-home exam.

i'm glad that i have a ton of notes and paid enough attention in class so i have a pretty decent grasp on the concepts. i'm ready to be done with it, though.

i always assumed that the person in the apartment next door to me was really quiet because i never heard a peep coming from him, but as it turned out nobody really lived there.
today there was a notice posted on the door, saying that the apartment was "abandoned" and the door would be unlocked between a certain time so all of his stuff was ours for the taking. i found some brand new tv trays, some pretty cool mugs, a stand for my the microwave and a few other trinkets. when i first went in there were lots of people taking things and walking around, but then i was all by myself and it was the creepiest sensation. looking through his old yearbooks and photo albums, and sorting through his old things, i wonder where he went and if he died or something. my assumptions were that he moved far away while he was still tied to the lease, the sign said something about the previous owner not wanting to pay shipping fees.

weird, weird, weird.

i just bought one of these. normally they're 170 dollars but i found one on amazon for 50! i've been wanting one of these fancy "fuzzy logic" rice cookers for awhile and they're always ridiculously priced, so i'm pretty stoked. 50 dollars is still a lot, but hey i don't pay for all that much so i don't feel all that bad about buying something that i've been lusting over for months.

plus it plays "twinkle twinkle little star" when the rice is done cooking AND IT MAKES CAKES AND STEAMS VEGGIES AND CRAP.

man, starting an essay is the most difficult part of writing it. i can develop my ideas just fine and can pound it out once i get the ball rolling, but the initial first paragraph/introduction KILLS ME EVERY TIME

i set up another job interview on saturday, at wasabi bay in mill creek. they have seattle positions open, but that's at wasabi bistro in belltown which is a fancy american fusion sushi sort of place and just seems like it'd be way too stressful and customer service-y, because it's in BELLTOWN where all the FANCY RESTAURANTS are and only rich losers get dolled up for a night in BELLTOWN. rich fucks and CRACKHEADS who sit by me on the bus and tell me my nose ring looks cute.

coming home between my french and english class always tempts me to just stay home. my english class is ridiculously dull, and then it's followed up by cultural anthropology which can either be really interesting or painstaking depending on my mood and how much coffee i've had.

i have an interview at a QFC sushi counter on thursday. it's out in wedgwood, so unless i'd be able to transfer to a capitol hill location it'd probably be a no go. we'll see how it goes.
also applied to sushi kampai on 8th and marion, and sushi maki on bellevue and olive. i'd be pretty cool with either of those jobs, if i'm even qualified enough.

i just sent in my resume to an upscale sushi bar on first hill. keep your fingers crossed!

i can feel one of my wisdom teeth coming in. the back of my mouth has been tender for the past couple days.

last night i had a dream that my cat was caught on some fabric and it was choking him. fortunately i came to the rescue and saved him, but i'm very sad that i had a dream like that. i love max.
